Another year, another js13kGames. Even though last few months were mostly about the preparations of the new backend, we're still using the same one, with minor modifications, running since 2013. There are some good news though.
This is the year of virtual reality headsets being released to the public, with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive being some of the most anticipated hardware. The good news for web developers is that we already have WebVR, a JavaScript API for that. And with the new framework called A-Frame building virtual, 3D environments got easier than ever.
Another month passed by - I've continued my WebVR gamedev activities: writing, talking and demoing. There's still some js13kGames work to be done too.
The second edition of the first ever fully HTML5 games conference - onGameStart - has just ended. It was a great experience and I'm happy I was part of it. Thanks to Michał I had the chance to speak about the js13kGames competition which ended just a few days ago.
